Sunscreen is one part of the plan.

Make daily sun protection easier to repeat.

Choose a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Apply it generously before going outdoors, then combine it with shade, clothing, a broad-brimmed hat, and sunglasses rather than relying on sunscreen alone.

What matters most

A considered approach.

01

Choose SPF 30+

Look for broad-spectrum and water-resistant on the label. No sunscreen is waterproof or a complete sun block.

02

Apply before exposure

Use a generous, even layer about 15 minutes before going outdoors, including ears, neck, feet, and other easy-to-miss areas.

03

Reapply and add cover

Reapply at least every two hours outdoors and after swimming or sweating. Seek shade and add protective clothing, a hat, and sunglasses.

A simple starting point

Three essentials. Kept clear.

BEFORE / 01

Apply

Cover exposed skin evenly around 15 minutes before outdoors.

OUTSIDE / 02

Reapply

At least every two hours, and after swimming or sweating.

ALWAYS / 03

Add protection

Use shade, clothing, a broad-brimmed hat, and sunglasses.

Guidance, not diagnosis.

Keep babies younger than 6 months out of direct sun as much as possible and ask their clinician before using sunscreen. Follow the product label, avoid the eyes, and stop use if a significant reaction develops.
